Banana Bread with chocolate

One of the favorite meals to make with the bananas is the banana bread, but the majority of the recipes have oil, sugar and chocolate as its main ingredients, which are all delicious, but not very healthy. In this endless winter, the smell of baking banana bread at home makes you feel very comforting. Eat the banana bread with chocolate with a cozy pajamas, is even more comforting yet. Although you can leave that bananas are very mature, you can put them in the oven to get more its natural sweetness, this means that you can use less sugar in the dough. Banana chocolate bread is easy to make! 

You can prepare before dinner and enjoy it for dessert, or let the children help on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Make a delicious gift for breakfast or a satisfying snack.


2 cups flour
10 tablespoons of granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of table salt
1 1/4 cup walnuts, toasted, thick and chopped (about 1 cup)
Half a cup filled with grated dark chocolate
3 very ripe, soft, obscurely speckled bananas
1/4 cup of plain yogurt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cold
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract


Prepare the dough:

Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and heat to 200 degrees.
Bake the bananas in a baking tray with edge until the skin is completely black, about 20 minutes, tossing and turning for bananas from time to time during the cooking. Peel and crush the bananas until they are soft. Measures 1 and 1/2 cups of mashed bananas and discard any excess.
Spread flour or butter the mold.
Combine first 5 dry ingredients and chocolate, in a large bowl; set aside.
Mix the mashed banana, yogurt, eggs, butter and vanilla in medium bowl wooden spoon. Lightly pour mixture of banana in the ingredients dry with a rubber spatula until just smooth.

Bake and enjoy:

Put mixture into prepared bread pan. Bake until the bread is golden brown, about 55 minutes approximately. Insert a toothpick in the Center until it comes out clean.
Cool in the mold for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve hot or at room temperature.
The banana bread with chocolate, covered tightly with plastic wrap, it can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
